This is a great book for all ages! It comes with or without a Storytime Cd. that is wonderful at home or in the car. My children love this book it is truly one of their favorites! It is a great folk tale about the changing seasons.

Sand Sisters

After spending the day with my brother and his family (three amazing kids), Theo than 10 months old looked up at us with great determination and feeling and said "I want a sister!" Who could blame him he had just had a super day playing with his older cousins and came home to being stuck with just his daddy and mommy. Talk about no fun! It took another 3 1/2 years but Theo got his sister! Gabbie is two and she and Theo have so much fun with each other (most of the time ;)...

Really, I hadn't thought about this much until last night I read the sweetest books

Sand Sisters.

This is such a cute story about a little girl who truely wants a sister or brother. A great book for a family that is expecting a new baby!

Theo's Last Day of Kindergarten :) :(

OK, so I have become a super sappy mom! Tomorrow is Theo's last day of Kindergarten and I am so sad and happy at the same time! He has become such an amazing person and during this past year of school has really grown. My sweet baby boy is now four feet tall and looks like a big kid and not like a baby at all. I am so proud of him!
As tears roll down my checks as I am typing I will just take a minute to write about my sweet son.
Theo is one of the kindest and most giving person I have ever met. To give just one example of just how sweet he is just this morning as I was running around making breakfast and packing his lunch Theo came over to me and gave me this great big hug. He looked up at me and said "mom I am so proud of you!" He was so sincere and sweet I almost began to cry. Really what more could any mom ever want than her child to be proud of her.
Wish me luck tomorrow that I am not a total basket case! :)

Shrinking Theo!

This is almost the end of my son Theo's first year of school! Kindergarten has been a new and exciting time for all of us. But as we are heading toward the final week, Theo seems like he is on an emotional roller-coaster. Poor guy has been so upset and of course life hasn't slowed down so his "mommy time" has not been nearly enough for him.

The other night I was going through my stock for an upcoming event and noticed that Theo had a book in his hand Shrinking Sam. I looked up and said " Hey, Thee have I read Shrinking Sam to you?" What a perfect book for the perfect time!

For those of you have not read Shrinking Sam you are truly missing out on an amazing book.

This is such a great book for just about anyone, but perfect for a little guy who is truly feeling small and a little scared! The story is about a little boy who is not being heard by his family and starts to shrink. I don't want to give the whole books away but it is a true gem. I am thinking it might be the perfect book for my feature book for June. (If you go to my web site and sign up for mailing list you could win it next month)

Back to Theo!

So, Theo hopped up on my lap and we read Shrinking Sam after we finished the book we had one of the nicest talks we have ever had. Theo explained that he would like more time just him and me "moommie time" and that he is kinda scared about first grade. It was great and since than we have been able to make time for each other. He came to my story-time last weekend at the Wild Tree Cafe in Evanston. Theo made sure to tell everyone that I was his mom and how proud of me he is!
